# Create sub-account

> Create a sub-account under your account and invite its owner by email. Its usage counts toward your plan. Requires confirm: true.

Creating a sub-account does two things:

1. It creates a new, empty Nexor account under yours, with the name, country, language, and time zone you send.
2. It invites `owner_email` as the sub-account's owner. The invitation is valid for 7 days.

The sub-account has no card, plan, or invoices of its own. Every lead it contacts counts toward your plan.

## Check the invitation

| Response | What to do |
| - | - |
| `invitation.email_sent: true` | Nothing. The owner receives the email. |
| `invitation.email_sent: false` | The email did not go out. Share `invitation.invite_url` with the owner yourself. |
| `invitation: null` | The sub-account exists, but its invitation could not be created. Call [Resend invitation](/docs/en/api/sub-accounts/resend-sub-account-invitation). Do not create the sub-account again. |

`owner_email` cannot belong to a member of your main account (422 `owner_email_is_parent_member`). Owners and Admins of the main account do not need an invitation: they can open the sub-account from the app.

To link a Nexor account that already exists as a sub-account, or to detach one, contact Nexor Support. The API only creates new sub-accounts.
