# List agent files

> List the files your agents can send to leads, with their handles and sending instructions, and optionally whether one task can send each file.

These are the files your agents send to leads, such as a brochure, a price list, or a photo. In the app they appear in **Files to send**, in each agent's right pane. See [Knowledge base, files and product catalogs](/docs/en/guides/agents/knowledge-base).

In the API an agent is a `master_workflow` and a task is a `workflow`. Availability is saved per task, so `workflow_id` is a task ID.

## How agent files work

| Concept | What it means |
| - | - |
| One file for the whole account | Every agent reads the same file. Its name (`label`) and its sending instructions (`agent_instruction`) are shared by every agent that sends it. |
| Sending instructions | `agent_instruction` tells the agent when to send the file, for example "When the lead asks for prices." |
| Stable `@handle` | `handle` never changes, even after a rename. Instructions and rules that mention `@handle` keep working. |
| Older folder handles | When `legacy_folder_handle` has a value, an older folder `@handle` also sends this file. It keeps working. |
| Available unless removed | A task can send a file unless the file was removed from that task. |

## Check one task

Add `workflow_id` to get `enabled` for that task: `true` when the task can send the file, `false` when the file was removed from it. Without `workflow_id`, `enabled` is `null`.

## Before you start

* MCP keys need `workflows:read` to read and `workflows:write` to make changes. Full-access API keys need nothing else.
* To stop some tasks from sending a file without deleting it, use [Set availability](/docs/en/api/agent-files/set-agent-file-availability).
* Errors return `error` and a readable `message`. Map them to your own copy.
